Joe’s strength in the financial services industry comes from a long and diverse career serving small to medium-sized businesses. Starting out with a Big 4 accounting firm, and then shifting to being an entrepreneur and financial consultant, he was exposed to the financial systems of businesses in numerous industries, including telecom, auto dealerships, farms, solar power, sports events, and manufacturing. A keen interest in computer systems from the inception of computerized accounting has enabled him to have an intuitive approach to maximizing the efficiency of the accounting system of the business enterprises he has consulted with over the past 35 years.
Joe’s time in the business world has enabled him to have well-rounded experience in the preparation of financial statements and reports, creating and implementing accounting systems, and dealing with accounting department personnel. His knowledge of income tax enables his solutions to have tax-effective solutions provided to his clients.
Joe comes from a strong background in entrepreneurship, having run three of his own businesses over a long career. During his career, Joe has spent much time giving back to the community in the non-profit sector, with a diversity of experience from acting as VP Finance for a 450-person volunteer organization to creating, filing for, and acting as a director of a 501(c)3 organization.
Joe holds designations as a professional accountant in both the United States (Certified Public Accountant) as a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) and Canada (Chartered Professional Accountant), with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Waterloo, Canada.
